But even with accomplishing a lot of things with weighted calisthenics, I still found myself wanting to dial in certain muscle groups or increase my strength in other ways so I found myself mixing in some foundational weight lifting exercises.
The original idea was to just do 1 or 2 weight lifting exercises every now and then but after a couple months of doing this, I started to see great results and it was actually pushing me forward with calisthenics and this is exactly what got me thinking about properly combining these 2 styles of training to create one hybrid style.
Not just randomly doing all these exercises either.
I wanted it to be created in a way where everything was intentionally getting me stronger, helping me maintain or even improve my physique if I wanted it to, and most importantly, I wanted this to benefit my static training so I could learn any move that I wanted and lifting weights was going to help with that.
Not hold me back.
So I started off seeing if there was anyone out there who trained this way but I didn’t really find what I was looking for.
Sure some guys do calisthenics and weight lifting workouts too, but not the way I was envisioning.
So basically, I was going to have to come up with all of this myself.
So for about a year and a half, I went into full testing mode.
